Wuheida, second favourite for next month's Qipco 1,000 Guineas, will not run in the Newmarket Classic with trainer Charlie Appleby reporting the unbeaten Group 1 winner has suffered a stress fracture to her right hind leg.

The Godolphin-owned Prix Marcel Boussac winner was around 9-1 for the Guineas, and is expected to also miss the Investec Oaks in June, for which she was a best-priced 12-1.

"It is very disappointing for all of us at Godolphin," trainer Charlie Appleby told godolphin.com. "She had been doing so well in her work at home and we were really looking forward to the Guineas.

"The recuperation period is six to eight weeks, so she misses some important races. But if she progresses well in her recovery, we should be looking to having her running again in the second half of the season.

"She is a high-class filly, as she showed so impressively at Chantilly last autumn."

Bookmaker reacted to Wuheida's injury by trimming Guineas favourite Rhododendron to around 11-4, although she can be backed at a top-priced 3-1, while Fair Eva is now as low as 8-1 (from 12).

Rhododendron was also among the 54 entries for the Oaks following the latest confirmation stage on Thursday.

The Fillies' Mile winner is one of 12 entries for Aidan O'Brien, including Hydrangea, who won the 1,000 Guineas trial at Leopardstown this month.

Further clues for the fillies' Classics could be gleaned at Newmarket next Wednesday, with entries made for the Group 3 Lanwades Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes.

Dabyah, who was a length behind Wuheida when third in the Marcel Boussac, is one of two entries for John Gosden, while Oh So Sharp winner Poet's Vanity is set to run for Andrew Balding.

"She is a big filly, and although I fully expect her to run a decent race on Wednesday, there is no doubt that she will come on for the run," Balding said.
