Enable sparkles as Gosden trains big guns on Knavesmire targets
EnableJohn Gosden
Frankie Dettori was back in the groove on the Yorkshire Oaks favourite for the first time since their emphatic King George triumph at Ascot last month. The daughter of Nathaniel, who will be attempting a five-timer on the Knavesmire, was travelling with her usual zest upsides a senior partner on the Limekilns long gallop.
UlyssesSir Michael Stoute
The free-sweating Eclipse winner was in his usual lather on the Limekilns round gallop, where Kevin Bradshaw had all bases covered in a spin over a mile. The son of Galileo is entered in the Juddmonte International at York next week and could bid to give Stoute a sixth win in the contest at a track that should play to his strengths.
James Garfield George Scott
Scott paid his first visit to the Limekilns since his days as an assistant to Lady Cecil in 2015, but the Hamilton Road-based trainer won't have as far to come when his new yard is built at Fitzroy Paddocks. His progressive youngster, a York candidate, swept by his older lead horse under Silvestre de Sousa.
BatterseaRoger Varian
Varian's fragile six-year-old was in action on the round gallop in preaparation for another crack at the Betfred Ebor at York on Saturday week, a race in which he finished fourth from a wide draw a year ago.
Mystic MegHugo Palmer
The youngster, who is nicknamed 'the queen' at Kremlin Cottage, wears a hood rather than a crown but certainly sparkled in her work on the long gallop under Jack Mitchell.
Great Work!!! CracksmanJohn Gosden
Looks to be nearing his peak just in time for a trip to the Knavesmire next week when prepping on the round gallop, just as his sire Frankel did before heading up the A1 to win the Juddmonte International in 2012. Robert Havlin was not hanging around on the Irish Derby runner-up, who looks to be in the form of his life ahead of the Betway Great Voltigeur Stakes.
