The last time Hayley Turner made a comeback she rode a winner on Shergar Cup day, and Britain's most successful female rider hopes to repeat the trick next Thursday at Markopoulo in Athens.

The Group 1-winning Turner was keen to stress her Greek adventure is nothing more than a one-time deal, saying: "It's not a big comeback thing, I'm an ambassador for GBI Racing this year.

"I went over to Athens last year to help promote British racing, and as I'm still fit and healthy and riding out, when they asked if I'd mind having a couple of rides to help promote British racing I said I'd do it."

Turner, 34, was keen to rule out a return to the Shergar Cup, saying she wants to see other female riders exposed to such opportunities.

"I won't be doing that [Shergar Cup] again," she insisted. "Last year was brilliant and there was the novelty of it - I came out of retirement - but I don't think that'd be quite as eventful second time around.

"It was nice to have a winner so I'll finish on that, and there are plenty of other good girls kicking around now who deserve their chance."

Turner will instead focus on her new career in front of the camera. She added: "I've got a lot of things to look forward to this season, starting off with ITV at Doncaster on Saturday, which is exciting.

"At The Races has been brilliant in letting me get lots of practice during the winter months, and I've got some other ambassador roles this season so I'm living the dream."
