Godolphin's Irish 2,000 Guineas entry impresses as James Doyle moves closer to comeback

Doyle gears up for return  

James Doyle, who could make his comeback from injury on the Harry Eustace-trained Sea Of Kings at Nottingham on Tuesday, put the three-year-old through his paces on the watered gallop on Saturday morning. 

The son of Sea The Stars will be in a change of colours in the 1m2f novice as he has been bought privately by Wathnan Racing since his promising debut second at the same track last month in the Clipper Logistics silks.

On-song Opera catches eye

Charlie Appleby had first go on the well-watered Rowley Mile ahead of Newmarket's three-day meeting when sending the classy Opera Ballo (William Buick) over seven furlongs with two stablemates on Friday morning.
