The last time British racing overhauled its governance structure it was described as a "historic moment" for the sport.

The 2015 Members' Agreement signed, which created a tripartite structure between the BHA, Racecourse Association and participants, meant the sport was going to "to act in a unified manner for the good of the industry".

The reality did not work out quite as well as was hoped at the time, with the agreement's powers of veto meaning deadlock was often inevitable, and no such grandiose statements were made as British racing's leadership announced details of a new structure on Monday.
