Betting exchange Matchbook, who have signed a deal to be a sponsor on the first three days of Glorious Goodwood next week, are in talks to become an authorised betting partner of British racing.

The Irish company is sponsoring five races at the Qatar-sponsored festival including the first race on the first three days of the meeting when they will also be the official betting partner.

Those opening races will all be named the Matchbook Betting Exchange Stakes which will mean the title of the Goodwood Stakes, a race first run in 1823, will not be on the racecard for the second day of the meeting.
