Naming your child can sometimes be a time-consuming and fraught process, but for one new father there was only ever one name in the running.

Having partnered Frankel on the gallops at home throughout his career, Shane Fetherstonhaugh has named his first son Bobby, the same as the legendary American trainer who gave his name to the world’s greatest Flat racehorse.

Fetherstonhaugh was an integral part of the training of the 14-time unbeaten superstar under the guidance of the late Sir Henry Cecil, and the rider recently celebrated the birth of his first born with wife Claire.
