Netflix racing project gets major thumbs-up from Drive To Survive fan Atzeni
One of racing's leading jockeys on Wednesday gave a big vote of confidence to the idea of the sport's own version of the smash hit Formula One documentary series Drive To Survive, saying it has the potential to capture a whole new audience.
As revealed in Tuesday's Racing Post, Box To Box Films, the media company behind Drive To Survive, is in advanced discussions with Sky Sports Racing and Netflix about a new racing-themed documentary series and Group 1-winning rider Andrea Atzeni could not hide his enthusiasm after hearing about the project.
Members of Netflix's team in Los Angeles and executives from Box To Box Films and Sky Sports Racing are understood to have met with racecourse executives, owners, trainers and racing administrators from both the US and Europe to discuss the project during this month's Breeders' Cup meeting at Del Mar.
