The forecast through to the weekend remains unsettled
1 of 1

The going on the Grand National course reverted to soft, good to soft in places on Monday but the forecast for the week ahead remains mixed.

Clerk of the course Andrew Tulloch reported on Monday evening: "It's good to soft on the Mildmay, good to soft (soft in places stands' side) on the hurdle, and soft, good to soft in places on the Grand National course.

"The forecast is unsettled. We may have a bit of rain and drizzle overnight, dry tomorrow and then a bit of rain possibly Wednesday into Thursday, and looking unsettled on Friday."

Showers could also strike on Grand National day.

New fixture

The BHA has announced an additional fixture at Newcastle on Sunday, with full fixture information to follow from 3pm on Tuesday and entries to close at noon on Wednesday.

Nottingham inspect

Nottingham will inspect at 9am on Tuesday for its meeting on Wednesday. The going was heavy on Monday with rain forecast overnight.
