Champion jockey Oisin Murphy made a winning return to Britain on Sunday and promised to give retaining his title his "best shot" when the championship season resumes in May.

Murphy, who was back on the domestic scoreboard at just the second attempt when a ready winner on Rainbow Dreamer at Kempton, is a 5-6 chance with Ladbrokes for the 2020 title. He is ahead of Danny Tudhope and former champion Silvestre de Sousa, who are both priced at 5-1.

Murphy said: "It's good to be back, even though the weather's not being too kind.
