Why is it interesting?

On the back of riding Dashing Willoughby to glory in the Group 2 Queen's Vase and adding four further places to his name at Royal Ascot last week, Oisin Murphy is back on the hunt for quantity over quality as he looks to extend his lead in the jockeys' title standings.

Murphy, who could have a fine evening at Windsor, has seven rides from as many races, most of whom will be well fancied in the market.

They include Daschas, a course-and-distance winner who bids to put a disappointing display in the Epsom Dash behind him in this feature sprint.

He will have to fend off the in-form topweight Louie De Palma, who finished a close-up second in a more competitive Newmarket handicap on his last start, if he wants to get his head back in front, while Richard Hannon's Naughty Rascal will look to go one better than his second here three weeks ago.

Amanda Perrett's Open Wide, a track specialist at Windsor, will also be prominent in the market and, although he hasn't been a punter's friend in recent times, he has to go close on form given he finished nine places ahead of Daschas last time.

What do the stats say?

Open Wide boasts form figures of 1222233 at the track, with his sole victory coming over course and distance.

Tony Carroll, who is represented by Oeil De Tigre and Fly The Nest, has a 22 per cent strike-rate (5-23, +£27.83 to £1 level stakes) over the last two weeks.

Erissimus Maximus is 1-1 at Windsor after a reappearance win off 3lb lower in May.

He's in great form with himself. He carries top weight, but he has very reliable course form and I wouldn't be too concerned if there are any thunderstorms.

John Gallagher, trainer of Green Power
He was due to run in the Wokingham but missed the cut by six. We entered him as a precaution and I'm hoping it will give him a bit of confidence. He will like the smaller field and he seems to be in good form. He didn't stay the seven furlongs two starts ago and the ground was too quick for him at Goodwood last time. He's working well and I'm hopeful of a good run.

Count Otto ran a better race at Chelmsford last time and is in good form. Open Wide likes Windsor, he was third in the final of this series last year and I hope he runs a big race. He doesn't have a good draw, though.

He's won at the track before but could do with any rain that's due as he doesn't want quick ground. He handles the trip and he's in good form at home.

Oisin Murphy, rider of Daschas
Stuart Williams' horses are in fantastic form – he's a very shrewd trainer and a great supporter of mine. Daschas was a little bit disappointing last time but won on his start before that and we'll see if he can bounce back.

Preference is for seven-year-old Louie De Palma, who posted a new career-best performance when a close second in a very competitive event at Newmarket this month.
