Trainer Mike Hammond has hit out at the handicapper's assessment of Charlie Mon after his stable star was dropped 1lb despite being beaten a combined 85 lengths on his last two starts.

In the wake of Flat counterpart Roger Fell describing a 23lb rise for hat-trick winner Guardia Svizzera as "an absolute joke", Hammond has taken his own swipe at the assessor for what he views as unfair treatment.

In July Charlie Mon finished third of seven, beaten 59 lengths, in a 3m2f chase at Newton Abbot off an official mark of 100.
