American-based trainer Keri Brion has spoken of her deep frustration at finding out French Light would be disqualified from the Listed novice hurdle at Punchestown on Sunday for carrying 7lb less weight than he should have after winning two races in the US.

And, to make matters worse, she heard the news first via Twitter.

French Light is one of a handful of horses now trained by Brion who are spending the winter in Ireland and the six-year-old finished second at 22-1 behind Thedevilscoachman in the INH Stallion Owners EBF Novice Hurdle, earning connections €5,225 in the process.
