ROA chief Liverton cites 'a clear unfairness' in racing's distribution of income
A row over prize-money continued on Thursday as the Racehorse Owners Association complained there was "a clear unfairness" at the heart of the sport.
In a message to ROA members, chief executive Charlie Liverton claimed there was an "inequitable and opaque distribution" of the sport's income to its participants.
The news comes after it was revealed that Horsemen's Group chairman Philip Freedman had written to Racecourse Association chief executive David Armstrong to say they had taken legal advice over the RCA's "unilateral decision" to cease racecourse executive contributions to prize-money.
