Successful in the Paddy Power Chase in 2007 with Newbay Prop before Living Next Door swooped to victory in 2014, Tony Martin notched his third victory in the lucrative three-mile handicap at Leopardstown yesterday with Anibale Fly, without doubt the most important winner of them all.

It’s been a trying 2017 for Martin, who described yesterday’s €200,000 payday, just his sixth win over jumps this season, as “badly needed.”

The man is best known for his genius in getting the most out of his handicappers but big-race national hunt success has been hard to come by of late and the Summerhill handler has been increasing his Flat string as a result.
