In adversity, racing has been seen in its very best light this year, overcoming the odds to be among the first elite sports to return after lockdown on June 1 and managing to keep the show on the road even when rising Covid infection rates have caused serious concern.

Through a collaborative approach, racing has even managed to reach out to a wider audience based on the healthy viewing figures posted by ITV.

The success has been down to an army of people and organisations working for a common goal, each making sacrifices to ensure participants and those employed in the industry could continue to earn a living, while providing fans with live sport to enjoy, albeit from afar.
