Magical odds-on for winning return on ITV4 as Fred Archer field reduced to four

Magical: the four-time Group 1 winner makes her return to action at the Curragh on ITV4
1 of 1

Fresh from securing a 1-2-3-4 in the Irish Derby on Saturday, Aidan O'Brien could add another Group 1 win to his weekend haul when Magical returns in this afternoon's standout race, the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes (4.45).

The tough five-year-old mare was last seen winning the Champion Stakes at Ascot in October and was thought to have retired at one point, but she is back in training and bidding for Group 1 number five.

She is available at a general 8-13 against four rivals, headed by her frustrating stablemate Fleeting, who is remarkably consistent but has yet to win at the top level.

Conditions have eased at the Curragh after 4mm of rain overnight, with the going now yielding on the straight and good, good to yielding in places on the round course.

The Pretty Polly is one of nine races live on ITV4, with the bulk of the coverage coming from Windsor and Newmarket.

The Listed Fred Archer Stakes (4.30) is probably the highlight on the Rowley Mile, where the going is good to firm, good in places. The ground has been watered, with a further 5mm applied after racing yesterday.

The Fred Archer field has been reduced to just four runners, with favourite First In Line, Newcastle winner Alignak and filly Grace And Danger all declared non-runners.

Live racing on ITV4 comes from the Curragh, Newmarket and Windsor

Conditions are similarly quick at Windsor, with the Listed Midsummer Stakes (3.00) the featured contest by the Thames. The globetrotting Stormy Antarctic is the 11-4 favourite, followed by 2018 Queen Anne Stakes winner Accidental Agent and rising handicapper Pogo at 4-1. History Writer is a non-runner from the Midsummer due to the quick ground.

Away from the ITV4 cameras the going has eased at Hamilton, with the ground reported as soft, heavy in places, sparking a few early non-runners.
