The market may have got it wrong in the Debutante Stakes but Aidan O'Brien rarely does, and it could be that Magical is a genuine contender for the Classics.

Although the supposed third string of the O'Brien team for the Curragh Group 2, she was there to be shot at throughout having taken the field along under Donnacha O'Brien, but proved too hard to pass.

Her more fancied stablemates Happily and September held every chance in behind, but couldn't get to her, and there did not look to be any obvious excuses.
