Victory for Madhmoon in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby on Saturday would be one of the greatest Irish racing stories for a long time and the colt has every chance of avenging his Epsom defeat.

Given his family connection with the race and the fact he has never won it before, it's easy to cheer for 86-year-old Prendergast's Madhmoon this weekend.

The same applies for Madhmoon's jockey Chris Hayes, who spoke beautifully at the beginning of the season about his special connection with the horse and how Madhmoon reminds him of his late mother, as he was the last top-notcher she saw him win on before passing away last year.
