Jack Kennedy is facing another spell on the sidelines after suffering a fracture to his right leg in a fall at Thurles on Thursday.

The luckless 17-year-old, who is heading the jockeys’ table in Ireland, fractured his right fibula at Downpatrick on September 23 and was having his first ride back from that injury when his mount, Mega Fortune, fell at the second in a juvenile hurdle at Thurles.

Adrian McGoldrick, chief medical officer for the Turf Club, said yesterday: "I spoke to Jack after he visited his surgeon this morning. He again has a fracture to the fibula, which is a minor bone on the side of the leg. It's the same leg he injured at Downpatrick, but fortunately he will not require surgery.
