Bell: Main Desire could be nicely treated off a mark of 99

Michael Bell: trainer of Main Desire
1 of 1

Sara Del Fabbro has enjoyed two winners from 11 rides and has an opportunity to shine on the big stage aboard Main Desire for boss Michael Bell in the £70,000 Sky Bet Apprentice Handicap (5.20).

The Clipper Logistics-owned Main Desire is two from two at York and runs in a handicap for the first time having contested the Commonwealth Cup and King George Stakes recently.

Bell said: "It’s a good opportunity for Sara, who has done well with two wins on Letmestopyouthere and claims a useful 7lb against fellow apprentices.

"It’s an interesting race for Main Desire and I feel it could suit as the conditions are in her favour. She could potentially be nicely treated off a mark of 99."

Glorious Goodwood handicap winner Lord Riddiford appears the one to beat in search of a four-timer with Jason Watson on board.

High hopes for Sabre

Richard Fahey is clear in the trainer standings at the course this season and has high hopes of winning the Listed Julia Graves Roses Stakes for the first time with Sabre (4.15).

The Janis Macpherson-owned son of Mayson was second in the Windsor Castle, a close fifth in the Richmond, and comes out on top in the official ratings.

Fahey said: "We could have gone for the Gimcrack but decided on this race. He has some very solid form and hopefully will go well."
