Lockinge hope Laurens is a Haydock no-show due to slight bruising
Star filly Laurens has been forced to miss her intended racecourse gallop at Haydock but remains on course for her reappearance next month.
Karl Burke decided not to take any chances with the five-time Group 1 winner, who is due to launch her 2019 campaign in the Al Shaqab Lockinge Stakes at Newbury on May 18.
A gallop with a stablemate after racing on Saturday had been a planned part of her preparation for that race but the trainer said: "She won't be working at Haydock.
"She is is fine but she has a slight bruise on the front of her joint, she must have banged it in her box.
"It could also be good to soft, chopped up ground by the end of racing. There are still three weeks until the Lockinge and she'll probably have a gallop somewhere next week."

Laurens has been a standard bearer for Burke and owner John Dance since making a Group 1 breakthrough in the Fillies' Mile at Newmarket as a two-year-old in 2017.
She added further top-level victories at Longchamp, Chantilly, Leopardstown and Newmarket last season and is currently a best-priced 7-1 third favourite for the Lockinge.
