The Cheltenham Festival had the huge effect expected on the leaderboard of the Tote Ten To Follow competition, with Lisnagar Oscar taking the honours on the track and the team of Ping Ponger 61 soaring to the top of competition standings with six festival winners among their squad.

Lisnagar Oscar won the Stayers' Hurdle at a starting-price of 50-1 but returned an £85.70 win dividend with the Tote and £10.70 for a place. With 25 bonus points and 25 Grade 1 points added, that yielded a total of 146.4 points to take his tally for the season to 158 and make him the most valuable contributor to any team.

The second biggest points scorer in last week's bonus races was Arkle winner Put The Kettle On, whose 71.9 total points were her first in the competition as her earlier successes came before the game got under way.

Epatante rolls on to 100.5 points for the season after her Champion Hurdle success garnered 54.6 points, while Politologue (58.8 points) and Champ (56.4) were others to get off the mark for their followers.

Champ's fans will be particularly relieved by his late charge to victory as he had, frustratingly, last scored on the day before the competition launched and then fallen when odds-on for the Dipper Chase on New Year's Day.

For those relying on the Mullins stable to propel them up the charts, the bonus points picked up by Min in the Ryanair, which took him to 82.8 points for the season, and Al Boum Photo (71.8 points) were welcome.

Other notable points scorers throughout the festival were Indefatigable (47.2), Shishkin (35.5), Envoi Allen (27.5), Monkfish (31.8) and Samcro (31.6).

In terms of the leaderboard, Ping Ponger 61 now heads the table with 584.6 points. Amazingly, their team of six festival winners included four who landed bonus points and the Arkle runner-up Fakir D’Oudairies. However, just 14 points behind is Malcolm F Stable9 so, providing racing continues to take place, there is still plenty to play for as the competition enters its final six weeks.
