As the mercury was already pushing 26C before 8am, most yards pulled out well before 6am to counter the heat with Godolphin winning the race to get to the watered gallop first. Saeed Bin Suroor's assistant Tony Howarth was showing off a new Range Rover but it was the six-year old that was in cruise control under James Doyle over a mile.
