Leading fancy Main Desire ruled out after setback
Main Desire, 11-2 second favourite for next week's Queen Mary Stakes, will miss the race after suffering a setback.
The unbeaten filly had been described by her trainer Michael Bell as a leading player in the 5f contest, but it was revealed on Monday she would not be running.
"She's temporarily out of action," said Bell. "It only happened this morning so I can't say when she'll be back."
The daughter of High Chaparral earned an RPR of 94 following her half-length victory in the Listed Marygate Fillies' Stakes at York, having broken her maiden first time out at Nottingham two weeks earlier.
"It's frustrating," added Bell, "but life goes on."
The Newmarket trainer will still be Royal Ascot-bound, his team headed by star stayer Big Orange.
