Progressive chaser Fox Norton has left Neil Mulholland to join Colin Tizzard after being purchased for an undisclosed sum by Ann and Alan Potts.

Tizzard confirmed to the Racing Post this morning that the six-year-old was now in his care, saying: "He's a lovely horse who has bags of potential and we couldn't be more pleased that he's joined our yard this week.

"I think the plan will be to go to Cheltenham's Open meeting next weekend for the Grade 2 Shloer Chase and then we'll take things from there. There are plenty of opportunities for good two-milers like him looking ahead."

Mulholland said: "We were delighted by the way in which Fox Norton won at Cheltenham last time but Colin Tizzard was also impressed and Mr Potts made the group of people who owned the horse a substantial offer which they decided to accept.

"Obviously it's a blow to lose such a classy prospect as Fox Norton but he left us on a handicap mark of 161 and I wish his new connections the best of luck for the future as the horse is still on the up."
