Three runners who catch the eye under lights at Kempton
The action on Saturday evening comes from Kempton, which stages an eight-race card starting at 4.15. Here are three runners to keep an eye out for.
Vandella
4.15 Kempton
John Gosden's form figures in the new year read 121 and he could continue his good start to 2019 with this smartly bred newcomer. The daughter of Invincible Spirit cost 280,000gns as a yearling and has been strongly backed to make a winning debut.
6.15 Kempton
A convincing winner of this contest last year, the six-year-old lines up off an 8lb higher mark but could still make his mark. James Fanshawe's representative was no match for the talented Redicean over 1m4f last time but he produced his joint-best Racing Post Rating and will be better suited to this longer trip.
7.45 Kempton
This six-year-old has plummeted in the weights and might be able to cash in on his falling mark as he was rated as high as 79 when with Richard Hannon and can now race off a mark 20 lb lower. He has been out of form but showed slightly more last time and his trainer, Adrian Wintle, had a big-price winner on Boxing Day.
