Ruby Walsh: I'll be back for Galway and I'm looking forward to it
Ruby Walsh is a certain starter at Galway this month according to the man himself, who says the surgeon is happy with the progress he has made in recent weeks.
Last seen in the saddle on Al Boum Photo in the RSA Chase at Cheltenham in March, Walsh has been recovering from a broken leg that has kept him sidelined for four months, but it is all systems go for his return to action at Galway on July 30.
"It's all good and the surgeon is happy. Once the surgeon is happy, I’m happy. That’s all that matters," Walsh said.
"I’ve been riding out for the last couple of weeks and everything is good. I’ll be back for Galway and I’m looking forward to it. It will be good to be back."
With little sign of any prolonged wet weather, quick ground is likely for Galway's seven-day extravaganza but Walsh is unperturbed by that prospect.
"I'm not worried about the ground. It is simply a case of once the surgeon is happy for me to return then I'll return and that will be happening at Galway. My appetite is still there and I'm looking forward to it," he added.
