ITV special from Salisbury and search starts for the next Siskin at the Curragh
Looking ahead to a week that sees a sudden halt to the flurry of festivals and Group 1 races, certainly in Britain, although Ireland builds to the Keeneland Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.
Monday
Haydock, where they race on Saturday as well, starts the week's action in tandem with Yarmouth in the afternoon, while Naas and Roscommon do the honours in Ireland. Windsor hosts its traditional summer evening fixture.
Tuesday
It is a 999 day on the Flat with meetings at Beverley, Catterick and, in the evening, Lingfield all boasting nine-race cards.
Four of the top five in the jockeys' table, Oisin Murphy, Tom Marquand, William Buick and Hollie Doyle, are at Lingfield. Marquand is busiest with eight rides while Hollie Doyle has her opening rides for her first retainer, Derby-winning owner Imad Al Sagar.
Amtiyaz (6.45) and Faisal (7.15) are trained by John Gosden and will be her first rides for the champion trainer.
The BHA added a jump meeting at Southwell late last week in response to trainers asking for additional opportunities for lower rated horses due to the high elimination rates at present. Their request was met with another nine-race extravaganza for Class 4 and 5 jumpers, finishing at 8.30pm.
Wednesday
It is all jumping in Ireland with Wexford in the afternoon before Sligo takes over later. Newton Abbot maintains the jumping theme in Britain with Ayr racing on the Flat, followed by Lingfield later in the afternoon.
Thursday
Leopardstown has top billing with three Group 3 contests, headed by the Bahrain International Ballyroan Stakes (3.00). Joseph O'Brien and owner Lloyd Williams won the 1m4f feature with Latrobe last year and have Pondus entered this time.
Bath and Ripon also race in the afternoon before jumping ends the day at Stratford.
Friday
It may be one of the lesser Sandown meetings but could be one to watch with an eye on the future, with three two-year-old races on the card. The mile maiden (2.20) was the starting point for Too Darn Hot's career in 2018 and his trainer, John Gosden, has newcomer Pied Piper entered.
More sticky toffee pudding prizes are on offer at Cartmel in the afternoon while Sligo races on the Flat in Ireland. Tipperary, Yarmouth and Hamilton keep the action in Britain going in the evening.
Saturday
There is no Shergar Cup this year but a meeting still goes ahead at Ascot with a card of largely handicaps. Newmarket and Haydock are the other prominent meetings in Britain.
Cork saves the Group-race day, building its meeting to a Group 3 climax with the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Give Thanks Stakes (5.25), won last year by the Aga Khan's Tarnawa, who features among the 36 entries this year.
Uttoxeter and Kilbeggan, in the evening, provide action over the jumps.
Sunday
The Curragh takes top billing with the Group 1 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes, won last year by subsequent Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Siskin.
There is more top-level action in France, with Deauville staging the Prix Maurice de Gheest. British trainers have won the race four times in the last six years.
Salisbury takes the spotlight in Britain, welcoming the ITV cameras for the Group 3 AJN Steelstock Sovereign Stakes (3.35). Ripon and Windsor are the other meetings.
