Cheltenham Gold Cup favourite Presenting Percy could show up at Fairyhouse on Saturday week after trainer Pat Kelly opted to rule out Gowran Park's Red Mills Chase.

Trainer Pat Kelly said his stable star would get an entry in the Grade 3 BetVictor Bobbyjo Chase after the surprise move to miss Saturday's Red Mills.

Kelly said on Friday: "We thought about it but decided to wait another week before running him. All being well with him and with the ground, he'll run in the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse next Saturday."

Bookmakers responded by easing Presenting Percy from a top-priced 3-1 to 7-2 for his Cheltenham Festival target.

Presenting Percy returned with a cosy victory in the Galmoy Hurdle at the track last month and was expected to try to go one better than when beaten by the ill-fated Irish Grand National winner Our Duke in the race last year.

Owner Philip Reynolds indicated on Friday that he would be happy for Presenting Percy to go to the Gold Cup without another run.

The eight-year-old gelding ran five times last season, including the 3m5f Porterstown Handicap Chase, before he demolished the RSA field, but he has had a more conservative campaign this season due to unseasonably dry weather.
