One trainer, one jockey, one horse and one race to watch on Saturday

Trainer

Market Rasen stages the best meeting of the British summer jumps season and trainer Richard Newland holds leading claims in the two big races, the Summer Plate (2.40) and Summer Hurdle (2.05).

Newland, who has won both races before, seems to be a permanent fixture on the Hot Trainers' list and his runners are in good form with a 24 per cent strike-rate (4-17) in the last two weeks.

Captain Tom Cat, who is on a four-timer after three chasing wins in the last two months, carries his hopes in the Summer Plate, while the hat-trick-seeking Wicked West goes for the trainer in the Summer Hurdle.

Jockey

One jockey's misfortune is another's opportunity and David Probert will be looking to make the most of Charlie Bishop's suspension when he takes the ride on Weatherbys Super Sprint (3.40) favourite Chipotle at Newbury.

Probert is riding at the peak of his powers after winning last week's Group 2 Duchess of Cambridge Stakes on Sandrine, a filly he partnered to victory in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The Welsh-born jockey also teams up with Chipotle's trainer Eve Johnson Houghton on Mystery Monarch (1.15), before rides on Margaret Dumont (2.25), Seattle Rock (4.10) and Lucky Bay (4.45).

Horse

Was it too good to be true or is she the second coming? We'll get the chance to find out more about Snowfall in the Juddmonte Irish Oaks (3.25) following her 16-length Cazoo Oaks demolition job under Frankie Dettori at Epsom.

Classics are just not won in the manner of the Aidan O'Brien-trained filly Snowfall's biggest winning margin in Oaks history. If the distance wasn't impressive enough, she was eased down in the closing stages.

She is understandably very short to complete the Oaks double at the Curragh when Ryan Moore will be on board. Snowfall will bid to follow the lead of Enable, who was the last filly to win both races in 2017.

Race

The Weatherbys Super Sprint (3.40 Newbury) is the big draw of the day in Britain with a huge field of unexposed juveniles offering punters a real head-scratcher.

The weight each runner carries is determined by its auction price, in essence the cheaper the horse, the less weight in the saddle.

That means the race often delivers a feel-good story, think Bettys Hope (2019) and Mrs Danvers (2016), but it has also been the domain of the big stables, with Richard Hannon and Richard Fahey winning six of the last eight runnings between them.
