One trainer, one jockey, one horse and one race to follow on Saturday
One trainer
Richard Hannon is set for a busy Saturday with 17 runners at three different courses.
Lots of Hannon's runners are at Newbury, where he saddles eight. Recent Newmarket winner Moyassar could get his afternoon off to a flying start in the Shalaa Carnavon Stakes (1.50), with Raymond Tusk (2.25), last year's 1,000 Guineas heroine Billesdon Brook (3.40) and Star Terms (4.50) among his cohort to make the short trip to the Berkshire course.
Hannon runs seven at Newmarket, including Watan in the Betway King Charles II Stakes (2.40) and three – Love Love, Willa and Falconidae – in a novice (3.50).
The trainer's final two runners, Brian Epstein and Dirty Rascal, run at Doncaster (6.35).
One jockey
It's so often the case but Ryan Moore's book of rides makes it impossible not to highlight him as the jockey to follow this Saturday.
Moore has seven rides at Newbury and rides Le Brivido for just the second time in the Al Shaqab Lockinge Stakes (3.40). The four-year-old was formerly with Andre Fabre prior to joining Aidan O'Brien, winning the Jersey Stakes in 2017.
Moore also partners Fort Myers for O'Brien (4.15) but rides for other trainers throughout the card, notably regular ally Sir Michael Stoute. The duo combine with Crystal Ocean (2.25) and Solid Stone (3.00).
Sunsprite (1.50), Star Terms (4.50) and Robin Of Navan (5.25) complete the superstar jockey's book of rides.
One horse
Laurens makes her much anticipated return to action in the Lockinge at Newbury (3.40).
John Dance's gutsy filly has picked up quite the following after her exploits as a juvenile and throughout her Classic campaign.
She is a five-time Group 1 winner against her own sex, including four last year. However, she will need to be back to her best to beat the boys, a task she failed when down the field in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on British Champions Day at Ascot.
One race
With the Lockinge far from a vintage renewal given the openness of the mile division, the best race is arguably the Grande Course de Haies d'Auteuil (4.00) in France.
Willie Mullins won the race with Thousand Stars in 2011 and 2012 and he saddles five this time, but the quintet may struggle to topple last year's winner, the superb De Bon Coeur.
The six-year-old, trained by Francois Nicolle, has only been beaten once in the 14 races she has completed and was imperious a year ago when beating the re-opposing Bapaume by 16 lengths.
The Irish champion trainer relies on Benie Des Dieux, Bapaume, Melon, Mr Adjudicator and the enigmatic Yorkhill.
