One Jockey

Seamie Heffernan stole the show in the Derby on Anthony Van Dyck last month and attempts to add yet another big-race success to his sparkling CV.

Again he steps in for the ride on one of Ballydoyle's lesser-fancied runners, Fairyland in the Darley July Cup (4.40), and there is no better man to produce the goods on the big stage.

One Trainer

Roger Varian saddles a number of intriguing contenders, including Wokingham winner Cape Byron in the July Cup. The Royal Ascot scorer will be running for the first time in Group 1 company but he could not have been more impressive last time out.

The Coronation Cup-winning trainer also runs Spanish City in the competitive bet365 Bunbury Cup (3.30), in which he dead-heated for second last term, and Mountain Angel in York's John Smith's Diamond Jubilee Cup (3.50).

Varian is enjoying an excellent 2019 campaign and there is every chance of him adding to his spoils this weekend.

One Horse

Advertise bounced back to form with a convincing victory in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot last month. The son of Showcasing, a Group 1 winner as a juvenile, bids to add a third top-level success to his name in the July Cup.

Among the opposition are Diamond Jubilee Stakes runner-up Dream Of Dreams, Middle Park Stakes scorer Ten Sovereigns and the evergreen Brando, but Advertise sets the standard on what he has achieved so far.

One Race

The Summer Mile Stakes (4.00) at Ascot has attracted a competitive nine-strong field, headed by Queen Anne Stakes runner-up Beat The Bank.

The King Power Racing-owned runner's opponents include Group 1 scorer Dream Castle, the consistent Matterhorn and Diomed Stakes scorer Zaaki. This Group 2 contest will take plenty of winning and it is one of the highlights of the afternoon away from Newmarket.
