Killarney racecourse management will discuss complaints raised by a number of racing professionals, including top jockey Jack Kennedy, regarding difficulties accessing the car park at the track during the five-day July festival meeting that ended on Thursday.

Kennedy expressed his annoyance in a tweet that day, saying he was disappointed by the way he and other jockeys were treated by staff at the gate of the car park, to which he was refused entry three days in a row.

His tweet generated a lot of comment on Twitter, including an apology from the racecourse, and on Friday night Gerard Coughlan, chairman of the racecourse, said: "We only became aware of Jack Kennedy's complaint today.

"We will be having a meeting to review all aspects of the festival meeting in the next week or so and will be speaking with our security firm to see what they have to say about the matter."

Jockey Mark Enright and trainers Ger Lyons and Richard O'Brien were others to voice their support on Twitter over Kennedy's complaint.
