Mishriff will not be supplemented for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe with connections preferring a crack at the Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot later in October.

The Prix du Jockey Club winner, who had ranged between 10-1 and 12-1 for the Arc with most bookmakers, is now 5-2 joint-favourite with Paddy Power for the Champion Stakes following the news that he will not join stablemates Enable and Stradivarius in the Longchamp line-up.

Speaking to the Racing Post, trainer John Gosden revealed: "After discussions with owner Prince Faisal and his team, Mishriff is to have his next outing in the Group 1 Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot in October. We discussed the possibility of running him in the Arc, for which he would have had to be supplemented, but he's shown this year that he is very much suited to a mile and a quarter.

"This looks the best plan going forward and he won't mind whatever the ground turns out to be come October as he's shown he's quite versatile in that regard."

Mishriff won the Group 1 Prix du Jockey Club over 1m2½f early last month, beating The Summit by a length and three-quarters, and was even more dominant against the same opponent at Deauville this month with a four-and-a-half-length victory in the Group 2 Prix Guillaume d'Ornano over a slightly shorter trip.

If all goes to plan, Prince Faisal's retained rider David Egan should be reunited with the three-year-old at Ascot, having missed the French Derby win due to travel restrictions and the Deauville triumph due to a ban.
