Teona and Noon Star will clash in Wednesday's Tattersalls Musidora Stakes (3.10) after the two exciting fillies were declared for a race that promises to have major implications for the Cazoo Oaks market.

Santa Barbara, fourth in the 1,000 Guineas after being highly touted by Aidan O'Brien, heads the Oaks ante-post betting at a general 3-1 but Musidora contenders Teona and Noon Star come next as 5-1 and 8-1 shots respectively.

Six Musidora winners have gone on to Classic success in the Oaks, most recently Sariska in 2009, and the Group 3 over 1m2½f is the highlight on the opening day of York's three-day Dante meeting.

Roger Varian already has a strong team of Epsom contenders after trial wins for El Drama and Third Realm last week, and Teona is the likely Musidora favourite after her nine-length win at Newcastle in November.

Sir Michael Stoute has won the Musidora eight times and could match Sir Henry Cecil's nine wins in the race with Noon Star, a cosy winner at Wetherby last month.

Pretty Polly Stakes winner Mystery Angel is more experienced than that pair and looks to climb further up the ladder for George Boughey here, while O'Brien is represented by Snowfall.

Auria, Glenartney, Quiet Assassin and Senita complete the eight-runner field.

The other highlight on the opening day is the Duke of York Clipper Logistics Stakes (2.40), with July Cup winner Oxted, Starman and Art Power among the 12 runners declared for the Group 2 contest.

Ryan Moore will again partner Oxted with regular rider Cieren Fallon in the midst of a seven-day isolation period before he partners The Lir Jet in France this weekend.

Brando, Summerghand, Molatham, Nahaarr and Summerghand are others in the Duke of York field.
