Last week's loss is this week's gain as top-class action builds to Ascot Chase
Monday
Saturday's loss is Monday's gain as Warwick's rescheduled high-class card kicks off the week.
Allmankind will stake his Arkle claims in the Grade 2 Agetur UK Kingmaker Novices' Chase (2.50), while promising novice hurdler Lecale's Article and French star Paul's Saga also feature on the card.
Allmankind's trainer Dan Skelton also has an interest at Lingfield where King D'Argent (3.15) bids to follow up his easy Newcastle success in the same sphere. Strong Glance (4.50) made a big impression at the track last time.
At Thurles the headline act is Ballymore and Albert Bartlett entry Capodanno, who will test his Cheltenham Festival credentials in the Horse & Jockey Rated Novice Hurdle (3.35). Wolverhampton begins at 4.25 and takes punters into the evening.
Tuesday
Paul Nicholls sends Highland Hunter (1.00) to Carlisle and Castle Rushen, who won his last start by 26 lengths, will be attempting to make it four wins from five starts in the 2m1f novice hurdle (1.35).
Catterick's card features a competitive 3m1f chase (2.15) as well as a hunter chase (3.15), in which some old favourites will do battle.
Kempton stages an afternoon fixture while Newcastle takes charge into the evening. Promising types Alpha Theta and Flyin' High are names to note.
Meanwhile the weights will be revealed for the 106 runners entered in this season's Randox Grand National.
Wednesday
Protektorat and Chantry House are among the entries for a novice chase at Wetherby (1.05), while L'Ami Serge, Midnight Shadow and Good Boy Bobby also hold entries in the handicap hurdle (2.40).
Hereford and Wolverhampton also stage afternoon cards, followed by Dundalk and Kempton in the evening.
Thursday
The Grade 2 Jane Seymour Mares' Novices' Hurdle (2.30) is the feature event at Sandown on a card where Nicky Henderson could unleash smart types Pipesmoker and Gran Luna.
Clonmel's Grade 3 Surehaul Mercedes-Benz Novice Hurdle (2.55) has been an excellent race to follow in recent years. Don Poli (2014), Monalee (2017), Chris's Dream (2018) and Allaho (2019) feature on the roll of honour. Streets Of Doyen, Minella Escape and Torygraph are entered for this year's event.
Kapga De Lily (2.05) could bid for a fiver-timer at Leicester, where the Evan Williams-trained duo Annsam and Paddy Power Gold Cup hero Coole Cody are notable entries in the novice chase (2.40). The juvenile hurdle (2.48) at Fontwell could be informative while the veterans take the stage on the same card.
Chelmsford also hosts some valuable events on its evening card.
Friday
Kelso's fixture looks set to attract some decent names, especially in the novice chase (1.50) and in the Edinburgh Gin Chase (2.50), which was won by Long Run in 2014.
Paul Nicholls has entered a host of his top youngsters in the 2m4f novice hurdle (3.12) at Fakenham, including River Don absentee Flash Collognes.
Saturday
There is Grade 1 action at Ascot in the Ascot Chase (3.35), which seven of the last ten favourites have won and in which Paul Nicholls will be hoping 2019 winner Cyrname can bounce back from his King George flop. Master Tommytucker, also for the former champion trainer, Mister Fisher and Lostintranslation could also run.
The Grade 2 Reynoldstown Novices' Chase and the Listed Ascot Swinley Chase provide ample support on the undercard.
Additional Graded action comes from both Haydock with the Rendlesham Hurdle, Grand National Trial and Prestige Novices' Hurdle, and also at Wincanton, where Song For Someone and Goshen could test their Champion Hurdle credentials in the Kingwell Hurdle.
Lingfield in the afternoon and Newcastle in the evening provide interest for Flat fans.
Sunday
In an unexpected twist, we will see Champ but not Altior on Sunday's rearranged Betfair Hurdle card.
The race known as the Game Spirit will act as Champ's Gold Cup trial, while Metier is a notable absentee from the feature event (3.35), which will nonetheless be a highly competitive contest with the likes of Soaring Glory, Cadzand, Buzz and Mister Coffey all engaged.
