Kerry National midweek highlight and juveniles take centre stage at Newmarket

Monday

Racing in Britain is cancelled as the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II takes place at Westminster Abbey.

While the BHA has added fixtures at the end of September to accommodate the missing races, there will still be two meetings in Ireland on Monday.

Fairyhouse hosts the Listed Ballyhane Blenheim Stakes () for two-year-olds, with last-time-out winners Beauty Crescent and Ocean Jewel seeking black type.

There's jump racing on day two of the Listowel harvest festival, where the highlight is the Liam Healy Memorial Lartigue Hurdle (). The four-year-old contest marks a notable return to action for Cheltenham Festival winner Brazil, who landed the Grade 3 Boodles Juvenile Hurdle in March.

Tuesday

Listowel reverts to the Flat on Tuesday with the Listed Edmund & Josie Whelan Memorial Listowel Stakes (). Last month's Ruby Stakes winner Charterhouse bids for back-to-back Listed wins, before Shergar Cup Mile winner Jungle Cove bids to get back to winning ways in Tuesday's closing handicap ().

Flat racing also comes from Lingfield, Beverley and Newcastle while El Paso Wood bids for his third chase success of the month for Tom Scudamore and David Pipe () in the sole jumps fixture at Warwick.

Wednesday

It's Guinness Kerry National day at Listowel and €200,000 is on offer for the 3m feature handicap chase (4.20). No favourite has claimed the contest for over a decade but Galway Plate winner Hewick could be looking to buck the trend against a full field for trainer Shark Hanlon.

While Gordon Elliott will be well represented at Listowel, he will also send a small team to Perth as the course brings down the curtain on its 2022 season with the Glorious Finale meeting.

Elliott holds an impressive 40 per cent strike-rate at the track this season and sends four across for the Weatherbys nhstallions.co.uk David Whitaker Handicap Chase (2.45) and could take on popular chasers Bavington Bob, Ballyandy and the hat-trick seeking Jerrysback.

There is Flat racing at Goodwood, where Wolferton Stakes runner-up Cadillac makes his first start for George Boughey in the Listed Bahrain Turf Club Foundation Stakes (3.35), before Hamilton-specialist Wickywickywheels attempts to land a five-timer for Jim Goldie (4.10).

Fixtures at Redcar, Kempton and Southwell complete the day's action.

Thursday

The Group 3 Tattersalls Stakes (3.00) takes place at Newmarket and is set to be a fascinating affair capable of producing top talent.

Last year's winner Modern Games has claimed three Group 1 successes since, including heading straight from this contest to land the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf at Del Mar last November.

Looking to follow in his footsteps are Godolphin stablemates Victory Dance and Desert Order, but Chesham star Holloway Boy, Group 2 scorer Royal Scotsman and impressive debut winner Nostrum could make for formidable opponents.

Newmarket also hosts the Listed Jockey Club Rose Bowl Stakes (3.35) and more Flat racing comes from Pontefract, Southwell and Chelmsford.

Listowel's harvest festival continues with another day of Flat racing while jump racing concludes at Perth. Of note is an interesting novice chase (2.10), where Haute Estime, who was third at 100-1 in the Grade 1 Sefton Novices' Hurdle, could make a notable first start over fences alongside the well-regarded Gowel Road.

Friday

Three Group races and two Listed contests feature on Friday's card at Newmarket, headlined by the Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Joel Stakes (3.35).

Tempus has been in unstoppable form this summer and heads the entries which include Group winners Checkandchallenge, Potapova and Pogo. The race is preceded by the Princess Royal Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Stakes (2.25) and the Group 2 Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai Rockfel Stakes (3.00).

Haydock hosts several competitive handicaps on their seven-race Flat card and there is an evening meeting at Newcastle.

The £70,000 Fixed Brush Hurdle Series Final Novices' Handicap Hurdle (3.40) is the pick of the action at Worcester while Grade 1 winning chaser Master McShee reverts to hurdles for the Ladbrokes Handicap Hurdle at Listowel (2.50) against Galway Hurdle winner Tudor City.

Saturday

Listowel concludes its festival with a day of jump racing but attention will turn back to the Flat for Group racing at Newmarket and the Curragh.

The two-year-olds take centre stage at Newmarket as next year's Classic hopefuls take aim at Group 1 company in the Juddmonte Cheveley Park Stakes (2.25) and Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes (3.00).

1,000 Guineas second-favourite Meditate could look to overcome her first career defeat 13 days prior and hand trainer Aidan O'Brien his fifth Cheveley Park success in seven years. Her rivals could include Flying Childers 1-2 Trillium and The Platinum Queen, and Lowther scorer Swingalong.

O'Brien could bid for a Group 1 double with Blackbeard, the quirky No Nay Never colt who won in France on his two latest starts and heads the Middle Park line-up. Persian Force and impressive Mill Reef winner Sakheer also feature among the entries for this 6f test won last year by Perfect Power.

Newmarket's sole contest for older horses is the bet365 Cambridgeshire Handicap (3.40), with over £100,000 on offer to the winner. Won for the last two years by 40-1 shots, the 1m1f race is a popular betting prospect and is sure to throw up surprises.

While the Curragh's Alan Smurfit Memorial Beresford Stakes (1.35) offers another Group contest for two-year-olds, it's the Goffs Million (3.20) which is sure to attract the most attention.

Open only to horses catalogued in the Goffs Orby Sale last year, €494,000 is awarded to the winner of this 7f race and features entries from American trainer Wesley Ward, including Queen Mary fourth Love Reigns.

The £100,000 Watergate Cup (3.25) features at Chester while more Flat racing can be found at Haydock, Chelmsford and Ripon. Market Rasen holds a seven-race jumps card.

Sunday

The Friends Of The Curragh Irish Cesarewitch (4.15) headlines Sunday's racing, but there is more Group action with the William Hill Ireland Renaissance Stakes (3.05) and Weld Park Stakes (3.40).

There's also Flat racing across the cards in Britain. Epsom hold their season finale with a seven-race Flat card featuring the Stanley Wootton Handicap (2.50), while the week's action is concluded at Ffos Las.
