In less than a month Royal Ascot will be in full swing, and among the highlights are the six two-year-old races. As the meeting approaches, some exciting sorts have been hitting the track and these six juveniles could be worth watching during the five-day spectacular.

Chasing Dreams
Charlie Appleby

It looks like Charlie Appleby will have a nice team of two-year-olds for Royal Ascot, with Chasing Dreams leading the way as favourite for the Queen Mary.

A ready winner on debut at Newmarket during the Craven meeting, Chasing Dreams beat Good Vibes by five lengths. That form has been given some sizeable boosts with the runner-up subsequently winning twice, including the Listed Marygate Stakes at York.

Appleby said after her win Chasing Dreams would be waited with until Ascot rather than run again and she has a good chance of carrying off that plan.

Final Song
Saeed Bin Suroor

This filly is the trainer's only juvenile winner so far, but she created a big impression when skipping clear by five lengths on rain-softened ground at Ascot earlier this month.

That course and distance experience could stand her in good stead if returning for the Queen Mary, although quicker ground would present a different challenge.

Fabrice Chappet

In among the excitement of York's Dante meeting, it would have been easy to miss Hurricane Ivor's Chantilly debut.

The colt blew his rivals away, cruising to the front before pulling clear by seven and a half lengths.

Quite what the form is worth is up for debate, but purely on optics, it was an impressive victory. The son of Ivawood is second favourite for the Coventry, although he may possess enough speed for the Norfolk.

Ickworth
Willie McCreery

Godolphin hold a strong hand for the Queen Mary, with Ickworth another live contender. The filly is two from two, and is already a Pattern winner having won a Listed race at the Curragh last time out.

She looked seriously quick that day, readily dispatching a field that included odds-on favourite King Neptune, who had looked good when making a winning debut at Dundalk.

McCreery thinks quicker ground will not prove a problem for Ickworth and she could make it a hat-trick at Ascot.

Repartee
Kevin Ryan

York's Dante meeting signalled the release of some exciting juveniles from the Kevin Ryan stable, including Repartee.

A rush of late money suggested the colt could take the first 6f race of the season for two-year-olds, and he delivered emphatically with a five-length success. Ryan thinks there is a lot more to come, although the son of Invincible Spirit is not a certainty to head to Ascot.

Temple Of Heaven
Richard Hannon

When a Richard Hannon-trained newcomer wins on debut, more often than not they are above average. Temple Of Heaven did that at Nottingham, and then followed up in a valuable conditions race at Newbury.

In a rough race, the colt saw off four previous winners and is now under consideration for the Coventry or the Norfolk. He had to battle hard at Newbury but that tough attitude will be a positive for whichever race he lines up in.
