July Cup hero Oxted tops the charts following success at Newmarket

Oxted rewarded just 0.4 per cent of stables featuring in this season's Tote Ten to Follow competition when earning 65.3 points with victory in Saturday's Darley July Cup.

The Roger Teal-trained sprinter became the highest scoring horse in the game, which started last month, following his win over Sceptical (15.4) and Golden Horde, whose third-place effort puts him up to 60.45 points.

On the contrary, two of the most popular horses in the competition were victorious in France on Sunday. Last season's champion two-year-old Pinatubo captured Group 1 honours in the Prix Jean Prat, raising his tally by 27.7 points. He represents 27.4 per cent of stables.

Meanwhile, Earthlight made a winning comeback in the Listed Prix Kistena, earning 14.5 points.

Falmouth Stakes heroine Nazeef raised her tally by 31.4 points, while other winners on the mark at the July meeting include Zabeel Champion (22.7) and Motakhayyel (16.9).

In Ireland, points were picked up by Nobel Prize (25.3), Valeria Messalina (24.2), Make A Challenge (18.2) and Pondus (15.0).

Elsewhere in the week, the Mark Johnston-trained Rose Of Kildare, who won the Musidora, earned 24.1 points and Dante-winning stablemate Thunderous won 27.6 points.

The overall leaderboard is still topped by Le Breuil 838, but the lead has been cut to 10.01 from Teleprompter 1.
