Judicial may be on his travels as connections target first Group 1 strike
Judicial, who split Mabs Cross and Alpha Delphini in the Palace House Stakes at Newmarket last May, may be campaigned further afield next season as connections attempt to strike at Group 1 level with the seven-year-old
The gelding, owned by the Elite Racing Club, went on to win the Group 3 Coral Charge at Sandown, but he fizzled out to finish 13th of 15 runners when pitched into Group 1 company for the first time as Alpha Delphini and Mabs Cross fought out the Nunthorpe at York the following month.
Steve Brown, assistant to Judicial's trainer Julie Camacho, said: "It was frustrating to see Alpha Delphini and Mabs Cross fight out the finish of the Nunthorpe with us struggling lengths back. He wasn't right at York and on his day he's up there with the best, already proving himself a Group 3 horse.
"We might need to be a bit braver this year and go to Ireland and France. He hasn't travelled well in the past but has grown up a lot and this opens up more options.
"Every year he has got a bit calmer and we have found a system with him. It's exciting to think about the year ahead with him, and we're very much looking forward to the start of his year."
That could come back at Newmarket in the Group 3 Palace House again, before Camacho looks further afield with the seven-year-old, who has landed 11 of his 28 races, winning in each of the five years he has raced.
