ITV to show Enable's historic bid for Arc de Triomphe hat-trick
ITV has announced it will once again broadcast the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe live from Longchamp on October 6, with Enable's hat-trick bid in the race the central focus of a two-and-a-quarter hour programme on the main channel.
While the French authorities have yet to confirm the running order for the entire card, using past years as a guide, the show is likely to bring viewers three more live races around the Arc, as well as a recording of any action from before the start of the broadcast.
France Galop director general Olivier Delloye said: "We are delighted the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe will be broadcast again this year by ITV.
"ParisLongchamp is waiting for thousands of British fans to support Enable in her bid to win a third Arc in a row but it's great news that this event can be viewed by a much larger audience in the UK and that they can enjoy great coverage from ITV."
The whole card will also be screened live on Sky Sports Racing, as will Sunday's meeting from Longchamp.
#EnableChallenge supporters' pack launched
While it might be expected that organisers would be hoping for a better showing from the home-trained horses in the face of a potential fifth straight foreign success in the Arc, France Galop has launched the #EnableChallenge campaign to celebrate the record-seeking mare's hat-trick bid.
As well as aiming to boost engagement with the Arc on social media, a special supporters' pack – which includes a scarf, a tote bag and an eco-friendly reusable drinking cup – can be reserved online to be picked up at Longchamp for those attending.
