How Sunday's action could impact the jockeys' championship in Britain

Oisin Murphy leads William Buick by nine in the race to be named champion Flat jockey for a third consecutive year.

The pair enjoyed a winner each at Newbury on Saturday with Buick edging out Murphy in a thrilling finish to the Group 3 Dubai Duty Free Legacy Cup aboard Solid Stone.

Murphy did not dwell on being beaten by only a neck aboard Foxes Tales and hit back with a winner for Andrew Balding with Koy Koy scoring in the 7f novice stakes.

Oisin Murphy heads north of the border as he bids to tighten his hold on the championship and he has a decent book of five rides on Hamilton's seven-race card to look forward to.

Murphy has consistently praised the work of his agent Gavin Horne in helping to find winners and it is hoped that Horne's magic has worked a treat again as Murphy has not ridden any of his five mounts on a racecourse before.

Hugo Palmer's Evocative Spark bids to follow up a win at Ffos Las last time out (1.45) with Urban Violet (2.20), Water Of Leith (3.20) and Mews House (3.50) all offering solid chances in handicap company.

The David O'Meara-trained Trusty Scout is one of the stronger chances in the selling stakes (2.50) as Murphy looks to end the week in style.

While Oisin Murphy travels up to Scotland, William Buick will be missing Sunday's action with a day of rest, although not out of choice but through suspension.

Buick benefitted from Murphy also missing a day through suspension earlier this week when he rode a treble at Yarmouth, but will have to wait until his five rides at Leicester on Monday before he can have the chance to start closing down the gap again.
