Ground quickening a distinct possibility on final day of Glorious Goodwood
The on-off showers that fell at Glorious Goodwood on Friday could be replaced by some sunshine for the meeting's fifth and final day on Saturday.
There was not a warm feel to one of Flat racing's summer highlights on Friday, but things could improve according to clerk of the course Ed Arkell.
He said after racing on Friday: "We ended on good to soft, good in places and we've had this on-off rain. Hopefully it'll be dry tonight if the forecast is correct and dry tomorrow. There are new showers coming through, but not that much.
"We'll leave the ground as it is tonight and see what it's like tomorrow. If we get the sun and not too much cloud we could be in the low 20 degrees. It should be a nice day."
