An unheralded four-year-old from the family of dual-King George hero Silviniaco Conti was the name on Jamie Snowden's lips when he was asked for a potential top-level performer at his annual owners' day on Saturday.

Snowden, a Cheltenham Festival winner thanks to Present View in 2014, entertained around 150 of his patrons at his Folly House stables in Lambourn when he paraded his troops for the core jumps season.

The former amateur rider, who started training in 2008, enjoyed his best campaign in 2019-20 with 46 winners and £375,844 banked in prize-money.

Those totals dipped last term, but the yard enjoyed a brace of Grade 2 victories thanks to Ga Law and Anythingforlove and a maiden Grade 1 is a big aim.

"It would be lovely to match a couple of seasons ago in terms of winners, but we had a phenomenal amount of seconds and thirds [38 and 37] last term, so it's six of one and half a dozen of the other, and we had a couple of Grade 2 winners last season, so stepping forward and dreaming of a Grade 1 winner would be nice," said Snowden.

Pressed which horse might provide that breakthrough triumph, he added: "We weren't far off it last season with Ga Law, who is sadly out for the season, but might the one to follow in his footsteps.

"He's a precocious French four-year-old by Coastal Path and jumps his fences well, so we'll try to utilise that weight-for-age allowance. We'll start off over shorter, but he'll go up in trip in time as he's from the family of Silviniaco Conti and Eglantine Du Seuil, who won at the Cheltenham Festival a few years ago."

Of the rest of the string, the trainer said: " will go novice chasing and should be a smart mare in that sphere, while is quite a nice juvenile who won two of his six starts in France.

" and go for the Grand Sefton, which Hogan's won two years ago, and I expect to be a decent second-season novice chaser after being placed at Graded level last year.

" will head to Haydock for the Grade 3 handicap hurdle he won in 2019 and , who could be quite exciting, is earmarked for the Persian War at Chepstow before possibly going over fences. , a star who has won twice over hurdles, is another we might have for the Persian War, although he's a novice all season."

The conveyor belt of young talent never stops turning in racing and a few inmates promise plenty, including , , , , , and , whose long-term aim is likely to be Sandown's military races as he is owned by a bunch of Snowden's ex-army pals.

Zara Tindall, a new owner, has an unraced youngster by Telescope named Eye To The Sky in training at Folly House, while will represent Sir Chips Keswick and the Duchess of Cornwall, who also has a homebred by Dartmouth at the yard.

Snowden has already saddled 17 winners in 2020-21 and his optimism for a fruitful time over the next few months is fuelled by a string of 60, which is the largest he has had and necessitated the purchase of another premises close by in Lambourn.

"It's always nice to get a good start to the season and hopefully things can progress from there," he went on.

"We'll have 60 for the season and that's the most we've ever had, so we've bought 20 acres above Saxon House and the top yard there. I've been looking for a while to buy some land in Lambourn, but we can put some more boxes and staff accommodation there. The main yard will still be Folly House and there are 55 boxes here, so we can use the other yard as a back-up for babies, new horses and holidays."
