Nashwa will contest the Cazoo Oaks at Epsom next month rather than the French equivalent at Chantilly.

The John and Thady Gosden-trained filly is a general 6-1 chance for the Classic following success in the Listed Haras De Bouquetot Fillies' Trial Stakes at Newbury last Saturday.

That was a first start over a mile and a quarter for the daughter of Frankel, who will have to step up a further two furlongs for the Group 1 contest on June 3.

She is third in the Oaks market behind unbeaten stablemate Emily Upjohn and the Aidan O'Brien-trained Tuesday, who finished third in the Qipco 1,000 Guineas.

Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner-breeder Imad Alsagar, said: "Nashwa won very well at Newbury last Saturday, where she showed a good turn of foot. She's an exciting filly and we're looking forward to running her in the Oaks."

Nashwa finished third on her sole start at two but is unbeaten this term, winning two on the bounce under regular rider Hollie Doyle.

The Oaks will mark her first step into Group company, where she will bid to land a breakthrough Classic success for Doyle, who rode ninth Sherbet Lemon last year.

Doyle is the retained rider for Alsagar, who opted for Epsom after considering Nashwa for the Prix de Diane on June 19.
