Doctors continue to monitor condition of all-time great Lester Piggott
Legendary jockey Lester Piggott remains in hospital with doctors monitoring his condition, although on Saturday the 83-year-old was reported to be "in pretty good form".
Piggott, a nine-time Derby-winning jockey, was taken to hospital in London last weekend.
His daughter Maureen Haggas, wife of Newmarket trainer William, said: "Dad remains in hospital but he’s okay and in pretty good form.
“The doctors are still monitoring him and he’ll be watching the racing this afternoon.”
Piggott is most closely associated with Nijinsky – the last horse to have completed the Triple Crown – while The Minstrel, Alleged and Sir Ivor were among other greats he rode during an illustrious career in the saddle.
