Ante-post favourite Earl Of Tyrone and the William Haggas-trained Gaassee head a maximum field of 22 for the £500,000 Sky Bet Ebor (3.35) at York on Saturday.

Earl Of Tyrone won the Martin Molony Stakes at Limerick last time, while Gaassee was third in the Old Newton Cup for Haggas, who will also send out Duke of Edinburgh Stakes winner Candleford.

There are six Irish-trained runners in the final field, including Okita Soushi and the JP McManus-owned Benaud for Joseph O'Brien. Ger Lyons will be represented by Licence and Jessica Harrington by Ever Present, who was fourth on his first start of the year at Down Royal.

"They've both got difficult draws," said O'Brien. "Okita Soushi ran very well at Ascot and this race has been his target since then. We were pleased with his preparation. Benaud had a nice confidence-booster at Bellewstown last time and we're hoping he'll run well."

Old Newton Cup winner Get Shirty and Enemy, last seen running in the Group 1 Goodwood Cup, will carry top weight of 9st 12lb. The latter's trainer Ian Williams has also declared Alfred Boucher, who won the Stayers Handicap from Frankenstella at York on Wednesday.

Godolphin will be represented by Goodwood winner Trawlerman, the mount of Frankie Dettori, while John Leeper, who was ninth in last year's Derby, is available at 14-1 generally for trainer Ed Dunlop.

Goodwood rivals clash in City of York

Four of the first five horses home in the Group 2 Lennox Stakes at Goodwood in July will renew their rivalry in the Sky Bet City of York Stakes (3.00), with Sacred, who finished fifth, heading the market.

Among her nine rivals are Lennox winner Sandrine, second Kinross and third Pogo, who finished fifth in the Group 2 Hungerford Stakes behind Jumby, who lines up on Saturday for Eve Johnson Houghton.

Brad The Brief, winner of the Group 2 Greenlands Stakes at the Curragh, and Wokingham Stakes winner Rohaan add further depth.

Eight runners have been declared for the other Group race on the card, the Sky Bet and Symphony Group Strensall Stakes (1.50).

Mighty Ulysses tops the market at 9-4 generally for John and Thady Gosden after following up his St James's Palace Stakes fifth with victory in the Listed Sir Henry Cecil Stakes at Newmarket last time.

Alflaila, who was second behind the favourite on his penultimate start, and the Haggas-trained Bashkirova are next in the market.
