Gericault Roque and Corach Rambler were among 15 declarations for the Agetur UK Ltd Classic Chase (3.00) at Warwick on Saturday.

They are prominent in the market for the Grade 3 handicap, which was won last year by Notachance, who returns for Alan King. He reopposes last year's runner-up Achille, trained by Venetia Williams.

Leading owner JP McManus won this race in 2020 with Kimberlite Candy and will be represented by Jerrysback, who was third at Ascot last time, and Chirico Vallis, a narrow winner at Chepstow last time.

Sam Twiston-Davies last won this Grade 3 in 2015 on the Paul Nicholls-trained Hawkes Point and will partner The Hollow Ginge for his father Nigel Twiston-Davies, while Dan and Harry Skelton will be represented by Padleyourowncanoe, who was last seen at Haydock.

Gordon Elliott entered nine horses in the Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle (3.35), a qualifier for the final at the Cheltenham Festival, but will have only one representative, 2020 final winner Sire Du Berlais.

The going was on Thursday described as soft, good to soft on the chase course and soft on the hurdle course, and clerk of the course Tom Ryall said: "It's good to soft in places on the chases as we've protected a bit of fresh ground eight yards from the inner rail.

"We've got fresh ground on the hurdle course, too, which has not been raced on since September. The forecast is dry until Saturday but the temperatures have dropped. There might be a slight frost tonight and tomorrow so we've put covers down as a precaution."
