Arc runner-up Sea Of Class building up to Prince of Wales's return

Sea Of Class remains on course to reappear at Royal Ascot in a month's time with a potential rematch with her Arc conqueror Enable on the cards in the Prince of Wales's Stakes.

The Irish Oaks and Yorkshire Oaks winner came through a first serious workout on the Newmarket gallops on Thursday in her build-up to Royal Ascot.

The daughter of Sea The Stars was rated joint-second three-year-old filly alongside Magical behind Alpha Centauri after getting within a short neck of overcoming her unfavourable draw in the Arc last October. Her rating of 122 put her ahead of Derby winner Masar and St Leger winner Kew Gardens.

Trainer William Haggas said on Friday: "She did her first bit of work yesterday and is in good form. Plenty of the groundwork has been done and she's still on course to return in the Prince of Wales's. She will have an away day with a racecourse gallop at some point before Ascot."

Sea Of Class's season will be built around returning to Paris in October to try to thwart Enable's tilt at an unprecedented three Arc victories.

Earlier this week, Enable's connections reported her on course for a seasonal return at Royal Ascot, with the Prince of Wales's or the Group 2 Hardwicke as likely targets.

Bookmakers could not agree on which should be favourite if they were to clash in Royal Ascot's Wednesday feature on June 19 with 7-2 available about both, although Ladbrokes make Sea Of Class 5-2 and Sky Bet make Enable 5-2.
